The SKYSCAN 2214 covers the widest range of object sizes and spatial resolutions in a single instrument. It enables 3D non-destructive reconstruction of internal microstructures in objects up to 300 mm in diameter, with a minimum pixel size of 60 nm.
The system features an open-type X-ray source with a spot size below 0.5 µm and a diamond window. It can be configured with one to four X-ray detectors, including:
a flat-panel detector for large objects
an 11 MP cooled CCD with a wide field of view
an 11 MP cooled CCD with medium field of view
an 8 MP cooled CCD for the highest spatial resolution
Automatic variable acquisition geometry and phase contrast enhancement enable optimal image quality within relatively short scan times.
The system includes the full Bruker microCT software suite, featuring fast volumetric reconstruction, 2D/3D quantitative analysis, and realistic 3D visualization. The software also supports volume rendering and easy generation of realistic movies, allowing virtual fly-throughs around and inside the microstructure of reconstructed objects.
Reconstructed results can be transmitted to iPad, iPhone, or Android devices. A dedicated mobile application provides intuitive touchscreen control for performing volume rendering and virtual object slicing.
